General Industrial Ventilation Air Handling Units and Associated Systems

General Ventilation HEADER

R&B Industrial design supply and install general ventilation and air conditioning/handling systems.

Such as:

Building Ventilation
Air Conditioning
Ventilation System testing and air flow balancing
Variable Air Volume Dampers (VAV)
Variable pressure control
Constant Volume Dampers CVD

Systems are designed for the lowest energy usage and maximum efficiency. Low cost fans can be supplied for inverter control, enabling energy efficient operation, with maximum life cycle cost savings.

Industrial facilities such as manufacturing plants, laboratories, data processing rooms, and nuclear power plants are designed for processes and environmental conditions that include proper temperature, humidity, air motion, air quality, and cleanliness. Generated airborne contaminants must be collected and treated before being discharged from the building or recirculated. Many industrial buildings require large quantities of energy, both in manufacturing and maintaining building environmental conditions. Energy can be saved by proper use of insulation and ventilation, and by recovery of waste heat.

For worker efficiency, the building environment should be comfortable and should minimize fatigue and facilitate communications. The HVAC systems should control temperature and humidity, have low noise levels, control health-threatening fumes, and provide area cooling to prevent heat stress.

We can provide air flow, temperature, humidity measurement, air quality, control. Alarm systems to suit the specific environmental considerations of the environment, plant or process required.

General Requirements

Typical temperatures, relative humidities, and specific filtration requirements for storage, manufacture and processing of various commodities may differ for a specific application. Improvements in processes and increased knowledge may cause further variations meaning systems should be flexible to accommodate future requirements.

Inside temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and allowable variations should be discussed prior to application. A compromise between the requirements for product or process conditions and those for comfort may optimize quality and production costs.

An environment that allows a worker to perform assigned duties without fatigue from the effects of temperature and humidity results in better continuous performance. It may also improve morale and reduce absenteeism.

CIBSE Guidelines and Building Regulations

Control/Building Management System, Energy Management
HVAC systems are typically controlled using a two-level control structure. Lower-level local-loop control of a single set point is provided
by an actuator.

For example, the supply air temperature from a cooling coil is controlled by adjusting the opening of a valve that provides chilled water to the coil. The upper control level, supervisory control, specifies set points and other time-dependent modes of operation. The performance of Industrial/commercial HVAC systems can be improved through better local-loop and supervisory control. Proper tuning of local-loop controllers can enhance comfort, reduce energy use, and increase component life. Set points and operating modes for cooling plant equipment can be adjusted by the supervisor to maximize overall operating efficiency.

Skill and experience

R&B Industrial having the skills and experience to carry out control tuning in order to optimize system performance for energy saving, filter changes, air quality.

Constant volume dampers can be installed to maintain extraction system rates for particular areas, rooms, processes LEV’s.

Variable Air Volume dampers adjust air supply systems to always keep supply/extract systems in balance. Rooms can be fitted with PIR/occupancy sensors to ensure that ventilation is only used where required, further saving on heating and energy resources.
