R & B Industrial are very excited to announce that its SmartAIR+ System has been awarded UK Government funding as part of Phase 4 of the Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator (IEEA).
The IEEA supports industrial-scale demonstrations of energy and/or resource efficiency innovations with the objective to cut carbon emissions. It was launched in 2017 and it has awarded a total of £16.5m in grant funding, supporting 31 projects. The Programme is managed by the Carbon Trust, in partnership with Jacobs and Innovate UK KTN.
The winning projects are the fourth phase of the (IEEA) programme, supported by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, which helps innovators to demonstrate technology for industrial use. Phase 4 winners also included two different pioneering metal working techniques, new ventilation systems, methods for cleaning food manufacturing equipment and concrete technology. We are developing and retrofitting a fully wireless local exhaust ventilation control system (LEV) at a customer site in Rochdale. The LEV helps protect workers from dust and solvent fumes and the new technology will achieve energy savings of up to 70%, using sensor technology and innovative energy harvesting.
The programme is funded through the Net Zero innovation Portfolio (NZIP), a £1 billion fund looking to accelerate the commercialisation of low-carbon technologies, systems and business models in power, buildings, and industry
