R&B Industrial Ltd provides a complete range of industrial ventilation: dust extraction and fume extraction systems, LEV systems and ducting installation services; offering bespoke design, manufacturing and installation options to meet your specific requirements.
Industrial Ventilation
We will visit your site to measure, survey and investigate your fume extraction and dust extraction system requirements, including filtration, air supply, air quality, ATEX, noise control and attenuation. This can include controlling or reducing explosive atmospheres, to meet ATEX / DSEAR regulations.
In order to provide the most competitive and energy efficient dust extraction system for your needs we will review your requirements and draw up a dust extractor / collector requirements specification.
With our in-house manufacturing, supplier network and Partner companies we can ensure the most cost effective and appropriate system is designed and manufactured.
Consideration is given to flammability limits, vapour pressures, release rates, jet breakup, densities and particle aerodynamics when determining appropriate extents of zone.
Dust extraction systems
Wood dust extraction systems
We provide systems for wood dust extraction from polishing to cutting, plaining and sawing etc. We look at your processes and design our extraction systems to suit your specific needs and requirements.
Our dust collectors are recommended specifically for your processes. Our in house design team takes suggestions from our P601, 2, 3 and 4 qualified engineers to design a dust extraction system that suits you. Wood dust extraction systems are an important step in protecting your employees from work place exposure under the current COSHH (2002) guidelines. Please read our latest article which explains this is more detail.
ATEX dust extraction system
ATEX dust extraction system dust collector design, full DSEAR risk assessments and Hazardous Area Classification, and dust explosion testing.
Dust extraction for acidic
or alkaline dust
For acidic or alkali dusts the collector can be fabricated from materials such as stainless steel, or epoxy coated steel.
Return air to workplace
Filter failure monitoring systems can be integrated into our SmartAir® Systems, saving compressed air and providing early warning of filter failure.
Different bin and discharge
arrangements
The dust extractor can be fabricated with extended legs enabling large waste skips to be placed directly under the extractor hopper, together with a rotary valve and flex connector.
Safe change filters
For hazardous dusts Safe-Filter-Change arrangements can be incorporated to ensure the safety and security of your workforce.
High temperature options
Providing a range of ceramic filters and high temperature cartridge or bag filters specifically for dust extractor systems placed and/or working at high temperatures.

LEV systems: industrial ventilation
An LEV system – otherwise known as Local Exhaust Ventilation – is an engineering control system for industrial ventilation that reduces exposures to airborne contaminants such as dust, fumes, gases and mist.
COSHH regulations stipulate that no work that exposes anyone to substances hazardous to health shall be carried out until an assessment has been made and appropriate control measures are implemented. Therefore, all parts of an LEV system must be effective and correctly designed with compliance to COSHH, CE Directives, PUWER, DSEAR and environmental regulations.
So how can we help you with your requirements?
We have over 35 years of experience in designing; installing, commissioning and maintaining dust and fume extraction systems. We are a unique company in the field, as we not only supply and manufacture in-house, we also provide consultancy services when appropriate.
Furthermore, we have an installation team who specialise in fitting and commissioning systems to standard.
Our speciality is determining the best solutions for our customers. Whether that is in the office or on-site, we aim to improve our customers’ working lives, by reducing the risk of their day-to-day activities, whilst being as environmentally aware and energy efficient as possible in an ever changing engineering world.
We study material safety data sheets and your specific requirements, always applying good workplace control principles and advising customers accordingly. In some instances other control measures may be more appropriate.
Such as:
Substance substitution
Design changes in the process
Enclosing processes
Simple modifications
Changes to existing hood design.
All of these considerations can often improve LEV performance considerably. Often there are other considerations especially when dealing with potentially explosive materials…
Hazardous Areas are correctly zoned: 22, 21, 20 dusts. 2, 1, 0 vapours, mists, gases
Air flows are correctly specified for assurance of correct zoning
Correct equipment category is specified
Correct control measures are put in place such as air flow monitoring and alarms.
Following this the correct LEV hood design is crucial to ensure air flows and flammable dust / solvent capture is effective. This enables us to potentially reduce extents of zones, saving our customers many thousands of pounds.
How can legislation and environmental considerations affect your company?
How can legislation and environmental considerations affect your company?
With the introduction of COSHH, the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) and Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control regulations, more consideration is being given to the rigorous control of workplace air quality and emission levels for a wide range of chemicals.
Emissions and air quality limits, for substances that are hazardous to health are getting more stringent with lower applicable limits.
COSHH regulations stipulate that no work that exposes anyone to substances hazardous to health shall be carried out until an assessment has been made and appropriate control measures are implemented.
All parts of the LEV system must be effective and correctly designed ensuring compliance to COSHH, CE Directives, PUWER, DSEAR and environmental regulations.
Ducting installation
A vital part of any ventilation system, ducting is used to distribute air through heating, venting (ventilation), and air conditioning systems, as well as dust extraction and fume extraction systems; helping to ensure your workplace maintains a consistent, comfortable temperature, and air remains clean and fresh, particularly within hazardous areas or areas where gases, moisture or dust is likely to build up.
As well as providing all ducting and accessories required for your dust extraction, fume extraction or ventilation system, the team at R&B Industrial Ltd. has a wealth of experience in ducting installation.
Ducting installation offered by R&B Industrial Ltd.
Galvanised spiral wound mild steel straight sections and fabricated bends
Rolled, lock formed galvanised or steel ducting with quick release clamps
Flanged and sealed steel ducting
Stainless steel ductwork for alkali / acid gases
PVC or polypropylene ductwork, fully sealed or welded
R&B Industrial Ltd.’s expertise in dust extraction, LEV systems and ducting installation
Over 35 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing dust extraction systems, and LEV systems – or industrial ventilation – has enabled the team here at R&B Industrial Ltd. to develop a range of energy efficient dust extraction systems, fume extraction systems, and LEV systems to suit a wide range of applications.
We not only supply and manufacture in-house, we also provide consultancy services where appropriate, making us a unique provider in the field.
Furthermore, our installation team specialises in fitting and commissioning systems to standard.
When installing ducting, we can cut all roof or wall holes where required, and earth bonding of all necessary ductwork whilst also providing certification of all ATEX measures employed which can be required for DSEAR regulations.
